Today at 10:45 am there was a report of a gunshot near the Deer School Campus. The Newton County SO was contacted immediately and were on the scene within minutes. Officers investigated and found the shots were simply target practice and there was no danger to the school. Student and staff safety is our highest priory. Thank you to the NCSO for their timely response.

Deer/Mt. Judea School District will be providing classroom supplies this school year. The only items students will need to purchase are backpacks (K-12) and kindergarten students will need to purchase a Kindermat. School starts August 24th and we are excited to see our students!
