Deer-Mt. Judea School District

Attention Parents,

The Deer / Mt. Judea School District K-6 students will be attending the Newton County Agri Discovery Day, Tuesday, August 25th from 9-11 am. Please return permissions slips to each school office so that your student may attend.

Also the Deer School K-12 students will be attending the Deer School Community Fishing Derby, Thursday, August 27th from 9-11am. Please return permissions slips so that your student may attend.

There will be a regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday, August 10 at 6:30 on the Deer campus.

There is a regularly scheduled board meeting on the Deer campus Monday, July 13, at 6:30 pm.

The Deer/Mt Judea school board will meet for a special board meeting on June 27, 2026 at the Mt Judea campus at 8:00 a.m. to work on a 5 year plan for the district. Everyone is invited attend.

The Deer/Mt Judea school board will have a special board meeting on Monday, May 18, at 6:30 pm on the Deer campus. Agenda is attached.

The school board meeting scheduled for tomorrow at the Mount Judea campus has been delayed until 7:00 p.m. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

The school board meeting scheduled for Monday has been rescheduled to Thursday, January 15th.

Thursday, December 4 Inclement Weather Update: Both campuses (Deer and Mt. Judea) will have a delayed start time today. Classes will start at 10am

The Regular School Board Meeting, scheduled for December 8, 2025, has been rescheduled to December 15, 2025.

The Deer-Mt. Judea School District and Superintendent Mr. Joshua Blaine Lawrence have mutually agreed to a separation of employment, effective Thursday, October 16, 2025. This decision was made amicably and without fault on the part of Mr. Lawrence.

The District expresses its sincere appreciation for Mr. Lawrence’s leadership, dedication, and service to our students, staff, and community, and wishes him continued success in all future endeavors.
