The Deer-Mt Judea Board of Education is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a school board vacancy in Zone 1. This vacancy term will end December 31, 2026. Interested individuals must follow the steps listed below:
An individual who wishes to be considered for appointment to fill a vacancy shall:
Be a qualified elector who resides in the District or District zone, if applicable7; and
Submit a petition to the District that:
States the individual’s intention to be considered for the appointment to fill the vacancy;
Is signed by at least twenty (20) qualified electors who reside within the District or the District zone where the vacancy exists, if applicable7; and
Submitted at least ten (10) days before the date the meeting to fill the vacancy is held.

Petitions must be submitted to the District no later than December 4, 2025 by 4pm.
Petitioners who qualify will be allowed a 5 minute presentation to the Board at the Regular (rescheduled) meeting on December 15, 2025 where the Board will appoint a candidate in Open Session.
