Employee Spotlight Keith Perkins Mr. Perkins is a joy to be around. He never complains and always has a smile on his face. He works so hard to engage our students in the Agri programs and through our shooting sports! We feel honored that he chose us to call home! ""I was born and raised on a row crop, cattle, and pig farm with my 2 brothers and 2 sisters near Bono, Arkansas. My parents met in a cotton field picking cotton. They were both the first to graduate high school from their families. I am married to Renee, and we have 5 kids. My oldest, Emily Perkins, is at eternal peace with Jesus. Hannah Jackman and her husband Joe reside in Springdale. Hannah teaches Science at Springdale Junior High in Fayetteville. They have 2 daughters, Lydia-4, and Claire-1. Dustyn Pekins and his wife Sammie live in Prairie Grove. Dustyn is an engineer at Georgia/Pacific. Graycen Russell and her husband Kyle reside in Russellville. Graycen is an Occupational Therapist for River Valley Therapy and Sports Medicine. Mallory lives in Brinkley and is a East teacher at Brinkley High School. I enjoy traveling the country and meeting new and old friends. I enjoy everything outdoors – hunting and fishing just to name a few. I am an airplane pilot and enjoy taking my friends and family flying. I enjoy flying Pilots for Christ missions to individuals needing medical treatments. I worked many other jobs before coming to Deer/Mt Judea, including being a heavy equipment operator, trashman, truck driver, county extension agent and fish farm manager."-Mr. Perkins

Deer-Mt. Judea School District will be starting the school day at 10:00 am tomorrow morning. There is a Winter Weather Advisory with the threat of snow in the morning. It is supposed to start about the time the buses will be hitting the road. We can start the day at 10:00 and it will count as a full day. Should the snow come as expected, we may have to cancel the entire day. The late start will give us a chance to make a better decision. We will make a final decision by 8:30 in the morning. Buses will be at their stops a full 2 hours later than normal.

Good evening! Unfortunately the roads are still a mess and have not melted enough to have school tomorrow. While the main highways appear to be clear, the side roads are ice and slush. We will not ask our staff, bus drivers, parents, or students to risk driving until it is safe for them to do so. Let's hope Mother Nature works her magic tomorrow and clears things up for Wednesday. There will be no school Tuesday, January 23. Stay safe and warm! Stay tuned for an announcement concerning make-up dates In the near future!
