🚨 Important Weather Reminder 🚨
With dangerously cold wind chills forecasted for tomorrow morning, we want to remind parents to dress their children warmly as they head to school. Layers, hats, gloves, scarves, and thick coats will help keep them safe and comfortable in these frigid temperatures.
📚 School will be in session at regular time, and buses will run on their normal routes.
Please take extra precautions to ensure your children are dressed appropriately for the weather. Thank you for your attention, and stay warm! ❄️

🚨 Important Announcement for Tuesday, January 14 🚨
Deer and Mt. Judea schools will be operating snow routes only tomorrow, Tuesday, January 14. Please note the following important details:
• Snow routes will be the same for both the morning and afternoon.
• If you bring your child to school, you are responsible for either picking them up or making sure you are at the designated drop off location.
• Parents must be present at the designated drop-off locations in the afternoon.
• Buses will not travel on snow-covered roads.
We encourage you to communicate directly with your bus driver or the school office for additional information or clarification. Please remember that all routes are subject to driver discretion for safety.

Due to numerous roads still covered in snow and the risk of refreezing tonight, creating dangerous black ice conditions, Deer and Mt. Judea Schools will be canceled tomorrow.
The safety of our students, staff, and community remains our top priority. A make-up day will be announced at a later date.

Due to anticipated single-digit wind chills and the possibility of additional precipitation overnight, we will have a 2-hour delayed start tomorrow morning. 🕒
🚍 Buses will begin their routes 2 hours later than normal to allow for road assessments and slightly warmer temperatures.

✨ Employee of the Month ✨
Ms. Lackey is our K-12 special education teacher at Mt. Judea. Here's what her colleagues said about her: "Mallory is always going above and beyond for any of her students. Students that are getting services by her are also blessed with her help and resources. She has helped me brainstorm many ideas to help multiple students in my class be able to master reading and even math skills. She is an awesome contributor to our school and our community as well."

The Deer students entered and won lots of awards with their Christmas ornaments in the 2024 Holly Jolly Ornament Contest hosted by the Little Buffalo River Visitor and Convention Center.
Winners of the Ornament Competition are 2 year old Sophia Daniels with 1st place (fingerprint snowman.) In Preschool Aurora Smith with 1st Place(Mary, Joseph, and Jesus.) In Kindergarten Raeli Daniels won 1st (tree silhouette). In 7th grade Abigail Combs won first place in her division and the overall winner of all the ornaments ( Grinch) , Jasper Hanson with 2nd place (snowman), and Katara Ward (tree and presents)with 3rd. In 8th grade Julianna Raymond won 1st place (Snow fox), Jayci Clayborn won 2nd (Snow) , and Clay Burdine won 3rd (Jesus Loves You.) In 11th grade Taleah Perkins won first place (Let It Snow) and Mrs. Smith won first (gingerbread girl).
